Implementation of a step care model for psychosocial interventions in mental health

The purpose of this study is to be able to better understand implementation complexity in order to then be able to facilitate the introduction of a step-by-step care model in mental healt.
One of the biggest obstacles to innovative ideas developing healthcare in practice seems to be difficulties in the implementation phase. Innovations are often adopted with great anticipation only to fail during implementation. There is a lack of knowledge about which strategies should be used in implementation. The purpose of this study is to better understand implementation complexity in order to then be able to facilitate the introduction of a step care model in mental health.
The purpose of this study is to be able to better understand implementation complexity in order to then be able to facilitate the introduction of a step-by-step care model in mental health. The project intends to answer the following questions: What obstacles and enabling factors are identified by healthcare professionals when implementing a step care model in mental health? What is the possibility for healthcare professionals to tailor an implementation strategy for a step care model in mental health, based on identified obstacles and enabling factors? The research is carried out with a qualitative method at four health centers. The project is carried out in collaboration between Uppsala University and the Region Uppsala.
