Thesis defence "Understanding and Leading Sustainable Development: Shifting to Stakeholder Focus in Sustainable Housing"

On Wednesday, November 6th, Max Rosvall defended his dissertation "Understanding and Leading Sustainable Development: Shifting to Stakeholder Focus in Sustainable Housing."
This thesis addresses the urgent need for a societal shift toward sustainable development in response to challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and inequality. It introduces the LUnDeMeCo model, which outlines key processes—Understanding, Defining, Measuring, Communicating, and Leading sustainable development. The model helps organizations improve their sustainability efforts by integrating quality management and systems thinking, with a focus on shifting from a customer-centered to a stakeholder-centered approach. The research provides tools and principles to guide organizations in leading sustainable development effectively.
The work has been carried out at the Department of Quality Technology at Campus Gotland and assisted by supervisors from all three divisions at the department: Raine Isaksson (Quality Science), Magnus Åberg (Civil Engineering and Built Environment), and Klas Palm (Industrial Engineering and Management).
