Two New Docents at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering

Farshid Shadram, Klas Palm
We are pleased to welcome two new docents at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering: Klas Palm and Farshid Shadram.
Both delivered their docent lectures earlier this spring and have now been approved by the docent committee after demonstrating both scientific and pedagogical proficiency.
Klas Palm, researcher at the Division of Industrial Engineering and Management, has been appointed docent in Engineering Science with specialisation in Industrial Engineering and Management. In his lecture, he discussed how different approaches to innovation management, such as Design Thinking and systems theory-based methods, can be combined to address both user needs and complex change processes.
Farshid Shadram, assistant professor at the Division of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, has been appointed docent in Engineering Science with specialisation in Civil Engineering and Built Environment. His lecture focused on the construction sector’s role in achieving the EU’s climate goals, and the importance of considering both operational energy use and the climate impact of building materials from a life cycle perspective.
We congratulate Klas and Farshid and look forward to their continued contributions to research and education.
