The Webinar takes the 60th Anniversary of Cultural Anthropology at Uppsala University as a starting point for a joint reflection on the interface of Anthropology and African Studies seen and experienced from and with Uppsala University. Participants are faculty and PhD Students at Uppsala University, and Collaborators of Uppsala Cultural Anthropologists.

The webinar combines multiple perspectives on Uppsala Cultural Anthropology’s research in and on society and culture in Africa, and with African partners (universities, collaborators, activists, bureaucracies, etc.). The central question is how ethnographic and collaborative transformations could be best understood, and shared, in contemporary debates on decolonization and decoloniality, and, by extension, what Uppsala Cultural Anthropology’s past and present contributions to research in, on, and with Africa.
