This seminar is based on ongoing PhD research and will address two core issues. Firstly, it will highlight the importance of conducting ethnographic research to understand how children engage with sexuality in their everyday life. Secondly, it will also address how play constitutes a core modality of action through which sexuality is engaged, and social relationships are negotiated, built, and structured.

Martí Torra Merín is a PhD Candidate in Social Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. His current research focuses on understanding children's everyday relationship with sexuality, with particular attention to elements of play and playfulness. He has also worked on children's relationship with secrecy within the contexts of folk Christmas figures and sexuality education.

The seminar will be held in English.
