Annika Teppo's inaugural lecture

On November 12, Annika Teppo will hold her inaugural lecture as a new professor of cultural anthropology. The Faculty of Art's six new professors will lecture in the University Main Building, Lecture Hall IX between 12.15-14.20. Read more about the event in the faculty's calendar.

Annika's lecture is entitled “Chasing the Repugnant Other”.

In 2022, Annika became a professor of cultural anthropology at Uppsala University. For over 25 years, she has researched various aspects of the lives of white Afrikaners after the apartheid era, focusing on religiosity and kinship ties, among other things. It was her interest in studying “race” that brought her to South Africa as a research field. Read more about Annika's research in this article from 2021.
