Rikard Engblom's Work Recognized by Delmi
Engblom's ethnology dissertation contributes to societal debate in both writing and podcast.

Rikard Engblom holds a PhD in ethnology and defended his dissertation at Uppsala University in 2023 as part of the interdisciplinary research program Engaging Vulnerability; "Time Warps: Refugees and the Experience of Waiting in Rural Sweden".
In the latest issue of Avhandlingsnytt, published by The Migration Studies Delegation, Delmi, the dissertation is summarized and discussed. In the issue titled Time, Space, Prejudices, and Perceptions in Migration Policy - From the EU's Externalized Borders to Vulnerability in the Swedish Housing Market, Engblom contributes to a discussion on refugees' uncertain waiting.
In connection with the publication, Engblom was also invited to participate in the latest episode of the Delmi podcast to talk about how long processing times affect migrants. Also participating were Larisa Lacatus, from Stockholms Stadsmission, Elias Nygren, from the Asylum Rights Center, and Fredrik Jonasson, from the Swedish Migration Agency.
