Christer Betsholtz new director of Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre

Karolinska Institutet and AstraZeneca have appointed Christer Betsholtz as the new director of their common Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre.

The Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre (ICMC) was established by Karolinska Institutet and AstraZeneca in 2013, with the aim to identify and validate novel targets within cardio metabolic diseases, focusing on three strategic research areas: heart failure, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Christer Betsholtz will continue as group leader in the Vascular Biology programme at IGP. He also has an appointment at Karolinska Institutet. By leading the research at ICMC he will provide a day-to-day link between the two universities and AstraZeneca.
