Göran Gustafsson prize to Di Yu

IGP researcher Di Yu has been awarded a Göran Gustafsson Prize for young researchers.

Di Yu’s research focuses on cancer immunotherapy and Magnus Essand’s research group he studies how viruses and immune cells can be modified to be used to treat cancer. Some of the viruses and immune cells that are developed in the research group are currently being evaluated in clinical trials at Uppsala University Hospital.

The Göran Gustafsson Foundation is made up by two foundations with different objectives where one issues prizes in medicine and engineering physics at Uppsala University and in engineering physics at KTH in Stockholm. Di Yu has been awarded the lesser Göran Gustafsson prize for young researchers which is for SEK 750 000 for one year.
