The Swedish Brain Foundation supports IGP researchers
Lars Feuk, Åsa Johansson, Tobias Sjöblom and Fredrik Swartling have received research grants from the Swedish Brain Foundation.
The grants are at least SEK 600 000 for one, two or three years. Lars Feuk’s grant will be used for research about schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders. Åsa Johansson will study how contraceptive pills and other hormone medicines affect the risk for stroke. Tobias Sjöblom’s project concerns biomarkers to detect brain tumours in blood samples. Fredrik Swartling will use his grant the examine the cells of origin and heterogeneity in malign brain tumours.
In total, 90 projects were granted funding from the Swedish Brain Foundation, out of which 14 are led by researchers at Uppsala University.
