Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes, Professor of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, receives the Ariens Award 2021 for her outstanding scientific achievements in pharmacology.

The Dutch Pharmacological Society has decided to present the 2021 Ariens Award to Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes, Professor at Uppsala University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. Professor Hammarlund-Udenaes is the first researcher from the Nordic countries to receive this prestigious award.

The Ariens award emphasises Margareta Hammarlund-Udenae's outstanding scientific achievements in pharmacology, during a long and fruitful career focusing on the fundamental and functional aspects of pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics (PKPD) in health and disease.
Margareta Hammarlund-Udenaes accepted the Ariens Award at the Federation for Innovative Drug Research Netherlands annual meeting at Leiden Bio Science Park on 27 September.
