Nominate your candidate for the 2021 Oscar Prize
The Oscar Prize, one of Uppsala University's most prestigious awards, is given to a young researcher "whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University ". Welcome with your nomination no later than March 25.

Mats Larhed did it in 2002, Mathias Hallberg repeated the achievement in 2008, and four years ago Oskar Karlsson - all at the Faculty of Pharmacy - received the Oscar Prize. An award that every year since 1879 is presented to a young scientist at Uppsala University “whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University".
All departments are now invited to submit proposals for the recipient of the Oscar Prize 2021. Nominees must have defended their dissertation no earlier than six years before the end of the nomination period. The Oscar Prize is awarded for publications presented after the doctoral degree.
Submit proposals with motivation and CV to stipendiekansliet@uadm.uu.se no later than 25 March 2021.
The recipient of the Oscar Prize is appointed by the University Board on proposal of a committee consisting of the faculty deans. If there are two equally deserving candidates, the prize can be shared.

5 September 1877, during Uppsala University's 400th anniversary celebration, Oscar II signed a deed of gift donating 40,000 crowns. The annual yield was to fund a prize for a young scientist at Uppsala University, to someone whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University.
