“The graduation ceremony is one of the best days of the year. It is overwhelming to see you, former students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, here in our beautiful auditorium, waiting for your diplomas. The receipt of all the trials you have gone through and all the knowledge and skills you now possess in the fields of pharmacy. I feel humble and great pride,” stated Anja Sanström, Deputy dean for first and second cycle education.

Saturday 25 September, a new generation of pharmaceutical experts gathered in Uppsala University's main auditorium to receive their diplomas. Unlike last year, this year's ceremony was conducted with all students on site, which was reflected in the happy and solemn atmosphere.

“What a journey you have made. Today you are newly graduated, full-fledged pharmaceutical experts with a solid platform for future assignments. So dare to make a stand, dare to be seen. Today, drugs and vaccines are everyone's concern. Seldom has the need for pharmaceutical expertise been as great as it is today, and you are the brilliant pharmaceutical experts society needs. I wish you all the best,” said Mathias Hallberg, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Manyof the participants in the ceremony highlighted the special sense of community they experienced during their time at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Elin Svedin, chair of the Farmis Alumni Association, encouraged everyone in the auditorium to join the network of former and current students and staff at the Faculty of Pharmacy:

“Now, you are just like me alumni. You have the whole world in front of you, and today I want to give you the advice to make room for yourself out there and show that you are pharmaceutical experts. Congratulations on your diplomas and welcome to the world of alumni.”
