Vaccine, drugs and rock'n'roll • A X-mas greeting from Dean Mathias Hallberg

When I sum up 2021, I note another eventful year for the Faculty of Pharmacy. We have developed our teaching, been successful in calls, published high-profile articles, received awards and - not least - contributed to the university's science outreach. The latter being more important than ever at a time when pharmaceutical drugs are on everyone's mind.

In all this, however, certain events stand out: The vaccination. Many of us longed. Personally, I will probably never forget the solemn feeling of queuing in line with other expectant people, looking at my papers and finally receiving the first injection. I had a big smile when I thanked the nurse and wandered home.

When it comes to life at the faculty, I want to highlight our inauguration of seven new professors, a record for us and very, very exciting! The inauguration week offered excellent lectures and ended with an evening at the castle. The principal's rock band provided the entertainment. Anders Hagfelt on drums and our own professor Per Hansson on guitar and vocals. The Faculty of Pharmacy in pole position. In the very front! I bring this beautiful picture and feeling with me into 2022. May this be the year when covid releases its grip and that our faculty has the opportunity to continue to develop!

Dear colleagues, alumni and friends: On behalf of the faculty, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
