Christopher Juhlin has received the Chinese Government's Friendship Award

Christopher Juhlin, professor of geophysics, received the Chinese Government's Friendship Award in Beijing on 30 September.
It is China's highest award for "foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the country's economic and social progress". The award is conferred as part of the celebrations for the National Day of the People's Republic of China on the 1st of October.
The award includes a medal decorated with a picture of the Great Wall along with the inscription "Friendship Award" in Chinese and in English. Chris has been lead supervisor for several Chinese students over the years and has facilitated exchange of scientists from the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences to Uppsala university. He is current a distinguished external professor at Jilin University.
