New interdisciplinary research school for sustainable development

A new interdisciplinary research school starts at Campus Gotland. The school´s focus is sustainable development and the interdisciplinary research will engage at least two departments in each project.

Patrik Rönnbäck sits in the steering committee and Jenny Helin is head of unit.

Eight departments from Uppsala University are involved and the Department of Geosciences participates in three of the five projects. 12 doctoral studentships will be offered.

15 May the doctoral studentship will be announced.
15 September is the last day to apply.
11 January 2021 the research school starts.

The five projects are:

Fisheries and coastal development in small island context
(2 doctoral students) The Department of Earth Sciences, The Department of Archaeology and Ancient History.
Gotland´s sustainable energy system transition: resources, demand and planning
(3 doctoral students) The Department of Earth Sciences, the Department of Art History.
Sustainable destination development
(3 doctoral students) Institutionen för Geovetenskaper, Department of Civil and Industrial, the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology.
Digital innovation for sustainable consumption
(2 doctoral students), the Department of Informatics and Media, the Department of Business Studies.
Making the right judgement. Practicing law balancing between energy transition and the preservation of cultural values. (2 doctoral students), the Department of Art History, the Department of Law.
