Prof. Troll inaugurated as Member of the Royal Academy of Sciences of the Canary Islands

In spring this year, Prof. Valentin Troll was elected as a corresponding (international) member of the Royal Academy of Sciences of the Canary Islands (RACC). This was in recognition of his contributions to the understanding of the geology of the Canary Islands and his efforts during the volcanic crisis on La Palma in 2021.

On October 27th, he gave his inaugural lecture at the 'Literary Cabinet' in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where he was presented with the Membership Certificate of the Academy. The membership carries the honorific prefix 'Don', signifying that 'Don Valentin Troll' is an expert in his field, an honour bestowed to only a small number of scientists from outside Spain.
