The chapter identifies when and how past was used in the development of financial regulation in Sweden. Sweden provides a particularly interesting example because of its unusual regulatory framework during most of the post-war period before aggressive deregulation in the 1980s, and the importance of a national banking and financial crisis in 1992 that was not part of a more generalized international crisis
