Alumni Talks 2024: “Leverage your network and gain expertise”
On 11 of September, the Department of Economics organized an Alumni Talks for its PhD students. Invited speakers were Susanne Spector, Head of Macro Research SE at Nordea and Jakob Lundberg, researcher at IFN.
Susanne Spector completed her PhD in 2013 and Jakob Lundberg in 2017 at the Department of Economics at Uppsala University.
For the department's doctoral students, they gave tips on what to think about during the studies and what career opportunities are available afterwards.
- “A PhD in economics opens the doors to many interesting jobs in both the public and private sector,” says Jakob Lundberg, who himself has gone back to research after working for a few years as chief economist at the think tank Timbro and as a political adviser at the Ministry of Finance.
