The Faculty of Social Sciences has approved the promotion of Fredrik Sävje to professor in economics from 1 December 2026. In addition, Martin Nybom was appointed as an adjunct professor of economics and Björn Öckert has received a renewed appointment as an adjunct professor.

Fredrik Sävje earned his PhD in economics at Uppsala University in 2015 and has since worked at Yale University. Since 2024, he is working at the department of Economics in Uppsala. He conducts research in econometrics with a focus on causal inference and complex randomized experiments.

Martin Nybom earned his PhD in economics at Stockholm University in 2013 and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Social Research (SOFI) at Stockholm University. He is currently a researcher at IFAU. His research focuses on education and labor economics.

Björn Öckert is a researcher at IFAU and an adjunct Professor at Uppsala University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stockholm University. His research focuses on economics of education and labor economics, with a particular emphasis on the economic returns to education and skills, effects of school resources, and the transmission of skills within and between families.
