Karl Walentin promoted to professor
Karl Walentin.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor has decided to promote Karl Walentin to Professor of Economics as of June 1, 2026.
Karl Walentin received his PhD from New York University in 2005 and has worked at the Department of Economics since 2022. Karl's research focuses on macroeconomics, primarily related to business cycles, immigration, macro-labor, and macro-housing. His current research concerns, among other things, the role of housing and mortgage debt in the transmission of monetary policy.
