About
Within the field of sustainability education, researchers have created knowledge about specific challenges associated with teaching about sustainability issues. Research has also provided us with scientific knowledge about what is, in general, important for fruitful sustainability teaching practices and learning processes. However, in-depth insight into what it implies to realise these important, general principles in practice – i.e., what kind of ‘didactical work’ of educators it requires – is scarce, while it is precisely this sort of knowledge that is needed to enhance teaching and learning practices. This project aims to address this blind spot through theoretical, methodological, and empirical contributions to sustainability didactics research in both formal education and non-formal learning settings. The basic research funding in this project will be used for pilot studies that will inform and inspire the work of the scientific research network Sustainability Didactics – SUDI
