Children and Youth in Focus – an interdisciplinary research network

The research network Children and Youth in Focus brings together researchers from different contexts and disciplines where research on, with and for children, youth and young adults is conducted.

The network brings together researchers who study children’s and youth’s diverse living conditions, social relations and agency in different social arenas such as family, housing, education, work and leisure.

Ongoing research focus on social interaction, learning, socialization and identity processes in a variety of social practices. Thereby enabling knowledge about how children and young people experience and navigate their everyday lives as well as critical examination of children’s and young people’s structural conditions.

Children and Youth in Focus is a research network in education and child and youth studies, for example within the research groups Childhood, Learning and Identity as Interactional Practices (CLIP) and Child and Youth Studies (BUV), that brings together researchers from different disciplines and research environments. The network consists of both senior researchers and PhD students, aiming to theoretically and methodologically deepen and develop different perspectives in research with children and young people in focus. Overall, the network constitutes an interdisciplinary forum for exchanges and collaborations through activities such as seminars, workshops and conferences, etc.
