Europeiska unionens djup och storlek i en tid av ofred

Location: Hörsalen, Kulturhuset, Sergels Torg, Stockholm.
In Europaperspektiv 2024, leading Swedish researchers and experts discuss how the EU should address a number of challenges related to the depth and size of the Union. This at a time of unrest and strategic tensions in the world. Russia's war in Ukraine has contributed to the enlargement of the Union once again being at the top of EU's agenda. Enlargement of the Union raises questions about how to proceed and what risks it may entail. There will also be discussions on how the EU should handle migration policy and how the Union and its member states can contribute to an improved labour market. In June this year, elections to the European Parliament will be held, the results of which are likely to have implications for the development of the Union.
Guest speaker Jessika Roswall (M), Minister for EU Affairs, will participate.

Facts - Europaperspektiv
Swedish universities co-operate since 1998 within a national network structure for European studies. This structure comprises of networks for political science, economics and law. The purpose is to enhance the understanding of the European Union in research and post-graduate education. Special resources are made available by the Swedish Parliament (Sveriges Riksdag) and are used for a shared infrastructure of courses, conferences and seminars. The networks are together responsible for the annual yearbook for European studies - Europaperspektiv.
