At the annual meeting of the Swedish Political Science Association (SWEPSA), Elin Bjarnegård, professor of political science, was elected as the new chair, and Michal Grahn, associate professor, was elected as secretary and treasurer. This means that the association’s leadership will be based at Uppsala University for the next two years.

SWEPSA is an association of researchers, teachers, and doctoral students in political science in Sweden, working to strengthen the discipline’s role in both academia and society.

– I am grateful for the trust placed in me to lead SWEPSA together with Michal and the board. We hope to promote increased collaboration and a stronger interest in political science across the country, says Elin Bjarnegård.

About SWEPSA

The Swedish Political Science Association (SWEPSA) was founded in 1970 and brings together researchers, teachers, and doctoral students in political science at Swedish universities and colleges, as well as people with a special interest in the field.

The Association’s main aims are to:
• promote critical analysis of the goals and methods of political science,
• disseminate information about political science research,
• strengthen cooperation among political scientists across the country, and
• represent Swedish political science in international contexts.

SWEPSA organizes annual meetings and awards, such as the Best Article prize in Statsvetenskaplig tidskrift.
