Centre for Medical Humanities part of a now funded initiative

Centre for Medical Humanities (CMH) has – through Ylva Söderfeldt’s efforts – been part of two applications from Uppsala University to Forte for formations of research centers. We have now been informed that both of these applications are approved. The funding concerns an initiative called WHOLE (Interdisciplinary Centre for Women’s Health, located at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health) as well as an initiative called the Uppsala Centre for Preventive Psychiatry (located at the Department of Medical Sciences). The total funding for the centres amounts to 119 million SEK over six years, with the possibility of additional funding for a further four years. Within WHOLE, CMH will focus on collaboration with artists and cooperation with patient organisations, and within the Centre for Preventive Psychiatry, CMH will contribute research on psychiatric classification systems and disease models. Researchers from CMH participating in the projects are Ylva Söderfeldt, Erika Sigvardsdotter and Josephine Selander. In addition, the CMH-affiliated researchers Matts Olovsson, Sigrid Schottenius Cullhed, Mia Phillipson, Maria Hägglund and Anna Sarkadi are also involved.

Big congratulations from the entire department to Ylva and CMH!
