Christer Betsholtz’ research concerns blood vessels in the brain and how the barrier between the blood vessels and the brain tissue works. Lena Claeson-Welsh is studying leakage from blood vessels in cancer and how this effects cancer metastasis.
In total, 118 researchers have been appointed Wallenberg Scholars in 2024, out of which 20 are at Uppsala University. Five of these are new awardees. The grants amount to up to SEK 20 million for experimental projects.
