Olof Rudbeck Prize 2024 to Ulf Gyllensten
Ulf Gyllensten has been awarded the Olof Rudbeck Prize for 2024. The Olof Rudbeck Prize was founded by Upsala Läkareförening to reward important achievements in basic science that have had significant clinical impact.
Ulf Gyllensten’s research has included basic genetic studies of cervical cancer, leading to the development of screening methods via home tests for this disease. He also studies the other gynaecological cancers, with the aim to identify new molecular biomarkers that can be used to improve diagnostics for women seeking care, and to enable the development of a screening program for all these cancers.
The prize will be presented at the Olof Rudbeck Day on 18 October 2024 where Ulf Gyllensten will also give a presentation about his research.
