Verónica Rendo selected Beijer researcher

IGP researcher Verónica Rendo has been selected as Beijer Researcher at the Beijer Laboratory for Gene and Neuroscience. The selection comes with a research grant of SEK 1 million.

Verónica Rendo’s research focuses on brain tumours and the reasons behind therapy resistance. She is for instance investigating genetic properties of tumour cells that can be used to develop new treatment strategies.

The Beijer Laboratory for Genetic Research was established at Uppsala University in 1990 through a donation from the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation. The Laboratory’s focus was later expanded and it was renamed the Beijer Laboratory for Gene and Neuro Research. Several Uppsala researchers have received support from the Laboratory to establish themselves as independent researchers.
