The foundation Bissen Brainwalk collects money to support research about the brain, and to spread information and understanding of brain diseases and injuries.
Peetra Magusson’s research focuses on blood vessels and blood vessel malformations in the brain. This includes the neurovascular disease Cerebral Cavernous Malformation (CCM) where blood vessel lesions are formed in the brain, which can cause hemorrhages and stroke. With an increased understanding the molecular mechanisms behind CCM she hopes to find alternative therapeutic options for the disease.
The grant will be presented at a ceremony in Köping’s City Hall on 27 March.
