ERC Consolidator Grant to Xingqi Chen
As one out of four researchers at Uppsala University, Xingqi Chen has been awarded a prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant.

The grant will be used to map the microenvironment in and around a tumour. The project is inspired by geographical information systems and Xingqi Chen will study how tumours evolve, how they interact with their surroundings and which processes may drive metastasis.
“Receiving this grant is a great honour. It allows me to build an interdisciplinary research programme and develop technologies that can benefit both basic research and clinical applications,” says Xingqi Chen.
ERC Consolidator Grants are open for researchers in all research fields with seven to twelve years of experience since completion of their PhD. In this year’s call, 349 researchers have been granted funding, out of which 13 are active in Sweden. The awarded grants amount to EUR two million for five years.
