IGP researchers receive grants from Kjell och Märta Beijers Stiftelse

The foundation Kjell och Märta Beijers Stiftelse has decided to support Lars Forsberg and Katie Bentley with research grants of 2 million SEK each.

Lars Forsberg’s grant will be used for research on somatic loss of chromosome Y (LOY) and the association with an increased risk for e.g. cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Katie Bentley’s research focuses on computer simulations to uncover new mechanisms behind the formation of new blood vessels, angiogenesis.

Kjell och Märta Beijers Stiftelse was formed in 1974 by a donation from Kjell and Märta Beijer. Since then the foundation, which according to its statutes shall support scientific research, has had a close collaboration with Uppsala University.
