Join us for the public launch of the Horizon Europe project, Larpocracy (https://www.larpocracy.eu/) with the headline "Larpocracy in an Age of Stressed Democracies, Privilege and Participation".
The event is open to the public, colleagues, and students who are interested in exploring the dynamic relationship between live-action role-play (larp) and contemporary democratic challenges. The event will begin with a brief presentation of the Larpocracy project, followed by two engaging panel discussions among project participants and advisors.
Moderator: Johanna Koljonen
16:00 Annika Waern: Introducing Larpocracy
Larpocracy researches spaces for deliberation and democratic skill building through live-action role-playing (larp). Funded by Horizon Europe, seven leading partners study the use of larp as a method for creating inclusive and democratic social spaces, both online and offline.
16:10 –16:45 “Larp in an Age of Stressed Democracies”
Project participants all come from countries were democracy is, in one way or another, under stress. How does this affect our views on the potential, importance, or uses of larp?
16:5517:28 Privilege and Participation
Who gets to play at all? How does participation in the same event differ?
