Seminar Conflict Transformation and Community Media

On 3 January 2017, the Department of Informatics and Media organised, together with the Kinneret College on the Sea of Galilee, a one-day Seminar on Conflict Transformation and Community Media. The event was co-sponsored by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel's Cypriot Community Media Research Programme.

In the first part, "Conflict transformation and Community media: Theoretical perspectives", Nico Carpentier, Sonja Narunsky-Laden and Hillel Nossek presented their work. The second part focussed on "Cyprus as a Case study", with presentations from Vaia Doudaki, Orestis Tringides and Hazal Yolga. The third part, "Community media on Academic Campuses in Israel", had presentations by Lea Mandelzis and Ela Bauer and Nahuel Ribke.
