Politics and participation – challenges and prospects

Göran Svensson convened and chaired the panel “Politics and participation - challenges and prospects” and Vaia Doudaki presented the paper “Audience responses on the refugee crisis in the Swedish edition of 'The Local'”. Nico Carpentier presented a paper entitled “Community media and peace-building – a Cypriot case study on the community web caster MYCYradio” and Kirill Filimonov talked about “Performance of participation on radical left-wing online platforms (case study of Avtonomnoye Deystviye, Russia). Patrick Prax, Department of Game Design, presented the paper “Dimensions of Participatory Game Design in Online Games”.

Onlife Participation – empowerment, critique and intervention

Ylva Ekström convened the panel “Onlife Participation – empowerment, critique and intervention”; Therese Monstad, Ylva Ekström, Göran Svensson and Paulina Rajkowska presented papers. Therese Monstad’s paper was entitled “An interactive video website as a mode for communication about change: Exploring the impact on participation and empowerment”, Ylva Ekström and Göran Svensson presented the paper “#jagärhär – Social media action as participation, critique and media intervention” and Paulina Rajkowska talked about “Levels of participation in digital museum installations”.
