New open access book: Current Perspectives on communication and media research

Together with a team of other editors, Nico Carpentier has published the new book "Current Perspectives on communication and media research". The other editors of this book are Laura Peja, Fausto Colombo, Maria Francesca Murru, Simone Tosoni, Richard Kilborn, Leif Kramp, Risto Kunelius, Anthony McNicholas, Hannu Nieminen, and Pille Pruulmann-Vengerfeldt. The book was published by edition lumière.

The book is available for free download at the Researching and Teaching Communication Book Series website. At that website, the book's pdf and the individual book chapters can be downloaded.

The book consists of the intellectual work of the 2017 European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School organized in cooperation with the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. The chapters cover relevant research topics, structured into three sections: “Intertwining public spheres”, “Trajectories of participation”, “From traditional media to networks”.

The book additionally contains abstracts of 42 doctoral projects that were discussed at the 2017 European Media Communication Doctoral Summer School.

Nico Carpentier is professor in media and communication studies at the Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University.
