The department gets jubilee doctor

At the spring promotion on 17 May, Peder Hård af Segerstad was appointed jubilee doctor. Peder was associate professor at the department for informatics and media until 2015. He contributed in a decisive to the shaping and development of the subject Media and Communication Studies in Uppsala from the 1980s and in to the 2010s. Among other things, he was behind the establishment of the one year journalism programme, several international courses and programs and he was pivotal for teaching in organisational communication.

Peder received his doctorate in 1974 with the thesis ”Litteratursociologi: ett bidrag till ämnets teoriutveckling” (Sociology of literature: a contribution to the theoretical development of the subject)
