Abstract: Radiometric fingerprinting tries to identify transmitters based on characteristics embedded in the received signal. The characteristics are due to hardware components, implementation, and individual imperfections at both transmitter and receiver. Modern embedded platforms enable on-device radiometric fingerprinting, leading to a wide range of distributed security application scenarios.
In this seminar, we will first present a lightweight feature set designed for and extracted on Bluetooth Low Energy devices. The features capture the transient characteristics of symbol transitions. Then we will focus on domain adaptation, the problem that arises when models are trained with data from one receiver and deployed on another.
