The IT department participates in three events at Almedalen Week

The Department of IT at Uppsala university is marking its presence at Almedalen Week in three important events. PhD student Johan Snider presented his seminar "AI in schools-bridging the gap with university support", a recorded seminar now available online. In addition, Professor Christian Rohner will lead a panel discussion on cybersecurity, a discussion that will highlight how organisations, society and individuals can combat cybersecurity threats more effectively. Although the panel discussion will not be broadcast live, all those present are encouraged to participate in this important issue.
- Wednesday June 26
Utmaningar och möjligheter för en god arbetsmiljö i den digitala tidsåldern
with, among others, Professor Anders Arweström from the IT department.
About AI and robotisation, which are becoming increasingly common tools in many workplaces, and how this will affect our work environment. A topical example is algorithmically guided work and the challenges, opportunities and strategies available to create a good work environment and well-being.

Title: How do we become as good at security as we are good at connecting?
Description of the societal issue:
How can organisations, society and individuals better combat cybersecurity threats? Are Swedish organisations well prepared for the new/upcoming cybersecurity laws and their risk management requirements?
Extended information about the event:
Cybersecurity is important, you want to do the right thing, but often don't really know how. The panel will discuss the challenges, requirements and purpose of security work, and then look ahead with a focus on skills supply, collaboration and diversity. In this context, we give a brief introduction to the upcoming cybersecurity laws and the government's Cybercampus Sweden initiative. We conclude with audience questions and identify key messages to take away. The panel brings together security experts from Swedish companies that manage critical infrastructure (food and IT infrastructure), the privacy protection authority, law, Cybercampus Sweden and Swedish universities.
