Afa Insurance is investing SEK 65.2 million in 16 new research projects aimed at promoting a healthier working life.
One of the projects focuses on how digitalisation affects the psychosocial work environment in health and social care – and how we can create better conditions for sustainable digital work environments. Åsa Cajander, Professor at Uppsala University, is one of the co-applicants in the project.

The project is led by Johan Blomkvist Block at Linköping University and has been awarded nearly SEK 3.4 million in research funding. Its aim is to develop a method to support change leaders in analysing and managing the psychosocial work environment effects associated with digitalisation. By using service prototyping – where digital services are tested and shaped in collaboration with users – the project seeks to contribute to more sustainable and tailored digital work environments.
The expected outcome is a practical tool and a guiding framework to support the implementation of new digital solutions. The hope is that the project will enhance understanding of how digitalisation affects the work environment, while also improving working conditions for staff in the health and social care sector.
The project is part of Afa Insurance’s latest research initiative, which allocates a total of SEK 65.2 million to 16 projects aimed at promoting a healthier and safer working life
