A special investigator has been appointed to analyse and propose measures to accelerate the electrification of the transport sector in order to strengthen the conditions for living and working throughout Sweden. The investigator will take a forward-looking perspective and assume that road transport will be mainly electrified in the longer term.

Active work on electrification is also under way in other modes of transport. This means that regulations need to be appropriately designed so as not to create obstacles or high transaction costs.

The assignment must be reported no later than 31 December 2024.
