Guest Lecture

Guest lecture by Keti Chukhrov, Tage Danielsson professor, Linköping University

The lecture is arranged in collaboration with the Department of Modern Language (Maria Engström and Christina Kullberg).

Abstract:
We usually confine economics to the issues of welfare, social management and class distinction.  But can it be that economics could form bodies, desire, sexuality and culture? In this talk Keti Chukhrov will compare the libidinal and non-libidinal forms of economics and will survey the impact of surplus value on the collective desire and cultural horizon of the capitalist and non-capitalist socialities respectively.

Keti Chukhrov är under 2023–2024 gästprofessor i Tage Danielssons namn, Linköpings universitet. Hon är verksam som forskare, filmare, konstnär och dramatiker. Hennes senaste bok är Practicing the Good. Desire and Boredom in Soviet Socialism (University of Minnesota Press, 2020)
