Abstract:

Marko Pajevic started to teach German Literature and Culture at Uppsala University in January 2024. He has previously taught at the Sorbonne, at QU Belfast and the University of London (RHUL/QMUL), before taking up a professorship of German at the University of Tartu in 2018. He has published monographs on Paul Celan (2000) and Franz Kafka (2007) and on a poetological anthropology (2012). He published widely on poetics with twelve edited volumes on poetics, the relation between poetry and music, language thinking, biopolitics and the notion of the abyss.

At the seminar he will present his latest book-length essay, Poetic Thinking. Now (Routledge 2023, translated from German, Passagen 2022), outlining his poetological anthropology with reference to the natural sciences, philosophical anthropology, language theory and dialogical thinking.
