What happened to rhetorical theory?
Dietmar Till studied and obtained his doctorate in Tübingen; he habilitated at the University of Göttingen and obtained the venia legendi for "German Philology and Comparative Literature" there.
Professor Till is one of the world's leading experts on the history and theory of rhetoric. In recent years, he has repeatedly held important positions in international professional associations, such as the 'Rhetoric Society of Europe' and the 'International Society for the History of Rhetoric'. Till is co-editor of the 'Cambridge History of Rhetoric' (to be published in 2023) and co-editor of the book series neue rhetorik published by de Gruyter.
Workshop, 23 November 10.15-13.00 (in English):
In conjunction with Professor Till's guest lecture, the Rhetoric Department will also host a workshop, led by Professor Till, on the theme of Propaganda.
The workshop is open to all interested parties, but especially to the department's master students.
