Ann Steiner promoted to Professor of Literature

The vice-chancellor has decided to promote Ann Steiner to professor of Literature with a special focus on the sociology of literature. The decision entered into force on the first of June. 

Steiner received her doctorate in 2006 with the thesis I litteraturens mittfåra. Månadens bok och svensk bokmarknad under 1970-talet. Her research has since been characterized by sociology of literature in various areas such as publishers, the book market, readers and popular literature. Her book Litteraturen i mediesamhället (2009) has been reprinted in four editions, most recently in 2019. In recent years, she has mainly worked with research on book streaming and the ongoing audiobook wave, with a particular focus on the conditions of reading and children's and youth literatue.(Image removed)
