Maria Tenje appointed to the Swedish Research Council’s Committee for Engineering Sciences

The Swedish Research Council’s board has appointed members to the newly established Committee for Engineering Sciences, which will manage new initiatives in the field of engineering during the period 1 October 2025–31 December 2027. Among the nine appointed members is Professor Maria Tenje, from the Division of Microsystems Technology at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Uppsala University.

The committee has been set up as a transitional arrangement while a new council for engineering sciences is being established, and it will work closely with the Council for Natural and Engineering Sciences.

Earlier this year, Professor Marika Edoff, from the Division of Solid State Electronics at the same department, was appointed as the Swedish Research Council’s first Secretary General for Engineering Sciences.

Together with Professor Hemin Koyi from the Department of Earth Sciences, Professors Maria Tenje and Marika Edoff will contribute Uppsala University’s strong expertise to shaping the future of engineering sciences within the Swedish Research Council.
