Abstract: In this talk, which is based on the published paper [1], we first review the necessary definitions of commutative algebra and graph theory. After that, we state some algebraic properties of dominating ideals and closed neighborhood ideals of graphs such as the persistence property, the strong persistence property, normally torsion-freeness, and normality. We continue this talk by studying dominating ideals and closed neighborhood ideals of cycle graphs as a case study. We terminate our discussion by giving some open questions in this theme.
