Abstract: The Greenlees–May (GM) duality was first formulated in the geometric setting of schemes as a broad generalization of Grothendieck’s local duality. It expresses a fundamental relation between derived torsion and derived completion, showing that these two functors are adjoint in an appropriate derived sense. The Matlis–Greenlees–May (MGM) equivalence, on the other hand, establishes an equivalence between the triangulated categories consisting of derived torsion complexes and derived complete complexes. In this talk, we present algebraic variations of the GM duality and the MGM equivalence.

The seminar will be held via Zoom link (meeting ID: 645 5572 6999, please contact the organiser for passcode)

This is a seminar in our algebra seminar series.
