Abstract: We talk about the convection-diffusion equations, their connection to natural science, and the mathematical challenges in defining the solutions to them. Then, we prove the existence and the uniqueness of a new notion of solutions to them. Finally, we show the conservation of mass property, the convergence to the initial data, and the strong maximum principle for the solutions under suitable assumptions.
