Abstract: In recent years there has been an explosion of interest and progress on the Fourier decay problem for fractal measures. In this talk I will discuss some of these results, focusing on how ideas and methods from random walks and spectral theory of transfer operators play a key role in their proof.

Based on joint works with Federico Rodriguez Hertz and Zhiren Wang.

This is a seminar in our seminar series on Dynamical Systems and Number Theory (DSNT).
